Maldives scout officials visit Sarawak Scout Headquarters
KUCHING: Fellowship of Former Scouts and Girl Guides Malaysia (Fofsag) vice-president Datin Dayang Mariani Abang Zain and Sarawak Chief Scout Commissioner Capt Zainuddin Hamdan recently received a visit from Maldives scout officials at the Sarawak Scout headquarters.
Visiting from Maldives were former National Chief Scout Commissioner Abdullah Rasheed; and Secretary General of Maldives Scout and Guide Fellowship Ahmed Ali Maniku.
Members of Trefoil Guild Girl
Guide (TGGG) Sarawak Branch were also present to welcome the visitors. The visit served as an opportunity for the visitors to exchange ideas and gain new knowledge on scouting in Sarawak as well as foster closer ties.
The last visit from the Maldives scouts to Kuching was back in 2000 when they took part in the Brunei-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East Asean Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) Jamboree held at Matang Scout and Girl Guide Camp.
