Miri Vocational College fetes director at retirement dinner
Miri Vocational College (MVC) held a dinner to celebrate the retirement of its director Choo Siak Lan at a hotel here Saturday.
Choo has served the college’s director for the past 22 years and has been in the education field for 33 years.
At the dinner, she received the Excellent Service Award (APC) from the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Department, which was presented to her by Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Sebastian Ting.
A total of 130 staffers and guests were present at the event, which featured various performances.
Also present were Miri education officer Mariam Monek, Sarawak Zone Vocational College director Lim Ah Juan and chairman of MVC staff club Flora Balang@Nur Fatin Hazirah.
