Be ready for activities filled Christmas month at La Promenade Mall

-

SAMARAHAN: The Christmas month at La Promenade Mall here will be jampacked with exciting festivities that are a combination of free and paid events, entertainment and arts showcases, as well as contests offering cash prizes.

Mozaik, the most popular band highlighted during the mall’s Oktoberfest, will return to perform for six nights throughout two weekends (Dec 9-11 and Dec 16-18).

Additionally, the mall’s fine dining restaurant Zoro by Domus will also be hosting a buffet.

“The Sunset Buffet @ Terrace Bar will be taking place on the Level 5 rooftop of La Promenade Mall, which has a 360-view of the city skyline and also over the mountain ranges.

“Tickets are priced at RM110 (per person) for the buffet and the concert, and half-rate for children under the age of 12.

“Alcoholic drinks will be sold separately,” said mall management Hock Seng Lee Group (HSL) in a statement.

Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) chairman Datuk Peter Minos officiated at the kickoff of La Promenade’s ‘December Month’ last Sunday, which also officially launched the ‘Christmas Street’ photo contest.

He was accompanied by La Promenade Mall digital marketing manager Sophia Ong and HSL Realty Sdn Bhd director Yu Ji.

“Prizes totalling RM3,000 are up for grabs. Entering the competition is easy – the participants only need to upload photos onto their social media with hashtags #LaPromenadeMall and #HSLTower.

“Be sure to set photos on your social media to ‘public’.

“The Christmas Street and photo competition are our annual event. Last year’s winner absolutely melted our hearts – parents and their kids playing dress-up with the Christmas trees,” said Ong, adding that the mall’s guiding principle had always been community-centric.

“Community engagement means a lot to us. In August, we launched a free once-a-week running club.

“On Saturday – Dec 10, we’ll cap off the night runs with a special ‘La Promenade School Holiday Night Run’.

For RM55-RM65, each participant gets two tees, a vacuum flask, a large 10cm medal and an eco-bag.

“We’ve already had nearly 500 sign-ups,” said Ong.

Also last Sunday, Minos joined restaurant critics, social media influencers and media practitioners for a preview dinner at La Promenade’s Foo Man Ting, a new Chinese restaurant located at the second floor of the mall.

Meanwhile, the Sarawak Artist Society will be having their largest ever annual show at the mall, beginning from Dec 9, where over 70 artworks will be on display and for sale.

This showcase follows the ‘Abstract’ exhibit, also held by the society at the mall earlier this year, which netted over RM70,000 in sales.

“We’re delighted to host the society the next beautiful show. Not only will there be 70 artworks by their artists, but we’re told that there will be also be the works by overseas artists to be on display as part of the Sarawak International Art Camp,” said Ong.

Entry to the art show is free. To make reservations for the Sunset Buffet @ Terrace Bar, go to booking.hslnet.my.
