Bomba personnel remove slithery ‘guest’ from house

Firefighte­rs in Marudi helped catch a cobra which had slithered into a house at Kampung Cina on Sunday.

Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Miri acting chief Ahmad Nizam Sapaiee said a team of six was dispatched to the scene a er receiving a call from the house owner at 9.17am.

“A search of the house found the snake in one of the bedrooms. The team took about four minutes to capture the 30cm cobra and later released it back into the forest,” he said.

Ahmad Nizam said later the same evening, Bomba personnel were called to destroy a hornet nest found at a house in Lorong Interhill here.

The nest, he said, was discovered in the backyard and firefighte­rs proceeded to spray it with insecticid­e before se ing it on fire.
