-

SRI AMAN: Folks of Rh Duman Gunggang at Kampung Sri Kejatau here on Sunday received a contribution of kitchen utensils, chairs and gas cookers from Simanggang assemblyman Datuk Francis Harden Hollis.

The contribution, comprising 100 plastic chairs, three gas cookers, and 100 plates and spoons were handed over by Kapitan Ling Siew Hung, assisted by Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Simanggang Women wing.

A press release stated that the longhouse’s village security and development committee (JKKK) had submitted a request for the items to Harden during a meet-the-people session on Nov 18.

“The assistance is to ease the burden of the JKKK in providing kitchen equipment facilities when they hold programmes at the longhouse, and at the same time assist families of the longhouse during their troubled times,” the statement read.

It added that Harden had also promised to fund the cementing of the entrance of Rh Duman Gunggang via the welfare activity fund of SUPP Simanggang Youth, with the works to be carried out through ‘gotong-royong’ (work party).
