Lau pips Lai to lift local snooker title in Sibu
Unheralded Lau Ung Yong edged Lai Chop Ming 31-29 to win the inaugural Sibu Rainbow Music and Culture Association 6 Red Snooker competition at Executive 3 Cueball Centre over the weekend.
It was point for point for both players before Lai moved ahead to take the lead at 27-22 and 2924.
However, Lau had the last laugh as he come from behind to pocket the black to nail the game at 31-29.
The tournament, which was organised by Sibu Executive 3 Snooker Centre, was aimed at promoting rapport among members of the association and raising the standard of play among players.
Executive 3 owner Mark Yeo said the event was also a good platform to test the po ing skills of members of Sibu Rainbow Music & Cultural Association who were mostly into singing.
“Hopefully, we will be able to come up with more such competitions and we also hope to get the support from all the members of the association to make our organising job easier,” he added.
