-

National Association of Malaysian Life Insurance and Family Takaful Advisors (Namlifa) on Tuesday hosted the 19th Akard Award Recognition Night.

A total of 103 insurance agents and financial planners received their outstanding awards from the Namlifa Miri branch at a ceremony held at a leading hotel here.

Minister of Transport Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin whose speech was read by Cr Jeffery Phang said the event served as a platform to recognise the effort of all the insurance agents and takaful advisors in helping their clients plan their future.

“I understand that in recent years, there have been an increasing number of people taking up medical insurance policy.

“There is now a greater awareness on medical insurance and this is where Namlifa can play its part in creating greater awareness on the different types of medical insurance policy available to their clients,” said Lee.

He thus called on Namlifa to conduct special courses for its members so as to equip them with knowledge on medical insurance plans and policies that fit their clients’ needs.

Apart from the awards for the high achievers, Namlifa also presented awards of recognition to eight Bumiputera agents who had successfully completed the Namlifa Fellow Certified Life Practitioner (FCLP) module and to 32 other advisers who had recently graduated from the Financial & Life Practitioners Council (FLPC) training programmes.

The Akard award symbolises the highest honour in the Malaysian life insurance industry.

It represents professionalism, high quality services, excellent leadership, integrity and ethical standard of the recipients.

Also present at the event was Namlifa National president G. Saseedaran.
