MagnumCares reaches out to duo with medical welfare aid
MagnumCares Community Support Programme recently donated RM1,500 to two patients from Serian – Lau Foh Liang and Lee Shing Ted – to help with their living conditions and health treatment.
Lau, 35, shared his family’s struggles after he suffered from brain cramps, while Lee suffered from cardiovascular disease and kidney failure.
Given the ongoing medical expenses, both their relatives recommended that they applied MagnumCares Community Support programme to alleviate their burden.
As the cost of living continues to increase each day, the financial assistance helps subsidise their medical expenditure.
Regional operations manager of Magnum ENE East Malaysia, Liew Kee Chuan, met with the beneficiaries at the Magnum state office here to present the financial assistance.
“Since MagnumCares Community Support Programme began in 2009, its state office has assisted more than 200 underserved people with medical assistance and treatments, ease their daily struggles and support their livelihood. As a nationwideyear-long programme, more than RM150,000 in donation will be contributed to the local community every year, to help underprivileged groups with their medical expenses as well as improving their well-being,’’ he said in a statement.
‘For You, With You’ has always been Magnum Cares’ mission, he added.
“We are aware of the daily struggles and challenges of the underprivileged community, especially during the Covid-19 phase. As cost of living is getting higher and more expensive, we need to be mindful of certain groups of people who are struggling to make ends meet.
“We are committed to help fellow Malaysians in times in need and continue to empower the society with more impactful and significant CSR programmes,” Liew said.
The MagnumCares Community Support Programme aims to improve the well-being of the underprivileged community nationwide.
With the spirit of ‘For You With You’ to spread love and cares to the local community, MagnumCares will be supporting the underprivileged community by contributing RM1,500 to each individual, which included disabled people, B40 families, and patients in critical need of medical support.
