Blackpink’s Lisa reportedly turns down RM176 mln offer from YG Entertainment leaving group’s future uncertain
KUALA LUMPUR: Lisa of Kpop girl group Blackpink has reportedly recently turned down a second offer from label YG Entertainment to renew her contract.
The Thai rapper allegedly refused an RM176 million offer from YG, leaving the girl group’s future uncertain, Allkpop reported.
Fans have been concerned over lack of news over renewal of Blackpink’s contract that will end his year, after celebrating their seventh anniversary.
In July, YG Entertainment refuted claims of Lisa cancelling her August schedule due to her unclear contract renewal status, stating that it was still ‘currently under discussion’.
It is also rumoured that Lisa is receiving profitable offers internationally, especially from her homeland, Thailand.
Meanwhile, Blackpink are in the last leg of their Born Pink world tour which they are contractually obligated to complete.
The final show of the tour will take place at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on September 16 and 17 and many fans have speculated that it may be their last one as a group.
Their decision to renew their contract with YG will have a significant impact on the South Korean music industry as they currently are the nation’s leading girl group.
Blackpink debuted in 2016, consisting of members Rose, Jisoo, Lisa and Jennie.
They had a meteoric rise to the top of the K-pop music industry after releasing hits like Boombayah, Ddu-Du Ddu-Du, Kill This Love and How You Like That.
