Miri MP lauds Premier’s solid support for PM Anwar, Unity Government
MIRI: Miri MP Chiew Choon Man has expressed thanks to Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg for his solid support towards Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in leading the Unity Government.
He was ‘highly appreciative of’ the Premier’s strong endorsement of Anwar, insisting that the he (Anwar) should continue helming the country until the end of the Parliament’s term.
“His (Abang Johari) remark has, in fact, garnered significant amount of approval from MPs within the Unity government.
“I would also like to thank Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahidi Hamidi for the proposal of the introduction of a legislation aimed at fortifying the stability within the government.
“It is important to have the support and commitment from key figures within the Unity Government, because it would translate into stability in the country,” said Chiew in a statement yesterday.
The MP also emphasised the importance of a united front in dispelling rumours and thwarting malicious intentions aimed at undermining the government for personal gains by a few individuals.
“With a shared consensus among the components of the Unity Government, I am confident that the current administration has the ability to prioritise critical national issues, including good governance, economic advancement, public welfare and national development,” he said.
Reflecting on the achievements in the past year, Chiew highlighted the successful implementation of various policies, planning strategies and programmes under Anwar’s leadership.
The initiatives, he opined, had set the nation on the right trajectory, aligning with global developments and the aspirations of the citizens.
“Looking ahead, these policies and plans will continue to be implemented, and that the understanding and collaboration between all component parties are vital towards benefitting the people and the nation,” he added.
