Good integrity, professionalism help propel KPWK to greater heights, says minister
KUCHING: Minister for Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Sarawak (KPWK) Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah reminds all staff members from departments and agencies under her ministry to embody the six characteristics outlined by the State Public Service Commission (Spans).
She listed the six as integrity, professionalism, results-oriented, kind and caring, team spirit, and sense of urgency and ownership.
“I believe our staff members who are incorporating these qualities will not only impress clients, but also propel the ministry forward towards becoming one of the best in Sarawak,” she said in her speech for her ministry’s ‘Excellence Service Awards (APC)’ ceremony here on Friday night.
On the APC, Fatimah emphasised its significance in motivating and inspiring the KPWK community and thus, she encouraged all award recipients to help shape and enhance the work ecosystem within the ministry, its departments and agencies.
“This is because this recognition is not only in the form of service achievements but also in moral values and ethics in carrying out duties — consistency in performance by demonstrating a meticulous, focused and responsible attitude in tasks and a tendency of achieve excellence, including a desire to continually improve skills, knowledge and performance.
“Most importantly, practising integrity in service by prioritising honesty, fairness and transparency in various aspects of service regardless of pressure or temptation,” she said.
The APCs were handed over to 35 recipients, including eight directly from Fatimah’s ministry, 21 from the Welfare Department Sarawak, and six from the Women and Family Department Sarawak.
Also present were her deputy Datuk Mohamad Razi Sitam and KPWK permanent secretary Noriah Ahmad, Women and Family Department Sarawak director Salmah Jobeli, Welfare Department Sarawak director Adana Jed, and SeDidik general manager Ayub Dahari.
