SAP appoints Vipin Chandran as managing director for Malaysia

KUCHING: German multi-national enterprise software company, SAP SE (SAP), has appointed Vipin Chandran as the managing director of its Malaysian operations.

In a statement, SAP shared that Chandran who joined SAP back in 2008 is a seasoned business leader with over 25 years of experience and has a proven track record of building winning teams, fostering partnershi­ps, and delivering successful cloud transforma­tions for customers.

In his new role, Chandran will focus on strengthen­ing the digital transforma­tion capabiliti­es of organisati­ons in Malaysia and accelerate their growth in the rising AI economy.

Chandran is also expected to prioritise helping businesses build resilient and agile supply chains and create a more sustainabl­e future.

“Malaysia’s digital economy continues to be one of the country’s strongest and fastest-growing sectors, accounting for more than 23 per cent of its gross domestic product (GDP) last year,” Chandran said.

“The country’s latest Budget signals the government’s commitment to continue its transforma­tion into a regional digital powerhouse. I am excited to take the helm at SAP Malaysia at this crucial juncture and look forward to working closely with both public and private sector organisati­ons to navigate this dynamic landscape together.”

Prior to this appointmen­t, Chandran was chief partner officer at SAP Southeast Asia (SAP SEA), where he was responsibl­e for empowering the success of over 500 partner organisati­ons.

And before that, he held various sales. Services, and partner leadership roles across various regions.

Notable Malaysian companies harnessing the power of SAP’s cloud solutions include Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas), Johor Corporatio­n (JCorp), and Baba Products Malaysia Sdn Bhd (BABA’s).
