KUCHING: E-hailing company Maxim Malaysia is collaborating with the Sarawak Society for the Blind (SSB) to provide free rides to its members.

Maxim director Mohd Hazwan Musley said the company has always cared for its service users and wants to provide the best support for them, including giving those in need help in various aspects including sharing a free trip with Maxim.

“I myself came across an article from Utusan Borneo on Facebook on March 22 this year, saying that the association is requesting e-hailing companies to provide more reasonable rates, especially for the needy.

“And I feel that this is a good opportunity for us to channel help by giving three corporate accounts to the association for the use of all and discounted prices to members,” he said yesterday.

Mohd Hazwan said this in a brief speech before signing the agreement for the collaborative purpose with SSB chairman Ronald Thomas Ronny Law at the association’s building in Jalan Ong Tiang Swee here.

It is understood that SSB will have three shared corporate Maxim accounts that will be handled and accessed by the Society’s administration to make reservations via Maxim’s application for society members to reach any destination across Sarawak for free.

Additionally, Maxim gave a RM50 promo code to 1,800 association members who use Maxim’s shared travel service.

This corporate account access and RM50 promo code is for a period of one year and will be revised depending on the needs of members and the association.

At the event, Maxim officials also presented Hari Raya assistance to 50 families from among the association’s members.

Meanwhile, Law thanked Maxim for the help extended to SSB members and hoped that more corporate parties would come forward to assist its members in the future.
