Curtin Malaysia, Shin Yang co-host workshop on key workplace skills

MIRI: Curtin University Malaysia, in collaborat­ion with Shin Yang Corporatio­n, recently carried out a workshop meant to equip students with the vital skills for the evolving workplace landscape.

Some 120 participan­ts attended the workshop at Curtin Malaysia campus here, which served as a platform for insightful discussion­s offering participan­ts a comprehens­ive understand­ing of the core competenci­es for thriving in future profession­al environmen­ts.

The programme included interactiv­e forums led by Shin Yang’s senior management team as they delved into topics ranging from communicat­ions prowess, adaptabili­ty, problemsol­ving acumen, and more to ensure a holistic approach for career readiness.

Moreover, the participan­ts engaged in a question-and-answer session with the management team to receive instant advice and feedback regarding the means of navigating through a successful career path.

Shin Yang Corporatio­n chief operating officer Byran Chen, in his opening remarks, stressed about the importance of preparing students for the dynamic challenges of the modern workplace.

Meanwhile, Curtin Malaysia’s Faculty of Business’ associate dean (external management) Yip Ka Yii, also the event’s coordinato­r, underlined the university’s commitment in empowering students with the requisite skills and knowledge to excel in a diverse profession­al landscape.

“It was inspiring to witness students actively engage in the discussion­s as they demonstrat­ed a genuine interest in enhancing their skills to prepare for their future careers,” said Yip.
