Yayasan MR D.I.Y unveils inaugural scholarshi­p programme

KUALA LUMPUR: Yayasan MR D.I.Y has introduced its firstever scholarshi­p programme aimed at providing financial support to Malaysian students who are pursuing their further education.

According to Yayasan MR D.I.Y chief executive officer Zaleha Mohd Mydin, the scholarshi­p programme is made available to undergradu­ate students who display outstandin­g academic achievemen­ts, strong leadership skills, and a deep commitment to serving their community.

“The foundation firmly believes in the power of education to bring about positive change.

“Our goal is to create a positive influence on the lives of young Malaysians, empowering them to become future leaders who will make a lasting impact on our country and communitie­s,” said Zaleha in a statement.

The foundation has also announced its first two scholarshi­p recipients, Cheong Wai Kee and Tan Zhi Liang.

Wai Kee is pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administra­tion (Hons) in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, while Zhi Liang is undertakin­g the Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) in Accounting programme.

Both are students of Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (Utar) Kampar Campus in Perak.

“Zhi Liang and Wai Kee have both shown excellent traits, and we hope that Yayasan MR D.I.Y’s support and acknowledg­ement would encourage more young Malaysians to aim for the same,” said Zaleha.

Founded in June last year, Yayasan MR D.I.Y is dedicated to promoting environmen­tal protection, improving health, fostering capacity-building, and nurturing arts and culture.
