Al Rajhi Bank appoints Mohd Syahrul Ishak as CEO
KUALA LUMPUR: Al Rajhi Banking & Investment Corporation (Malaysia) Bhd has appointed Mohd Syahrul Ishak as chief executive officer (CEO) effective yesterday.
Mohd Syahrul will assume the bank’s leadership from Muhammed Uzman Muhammed Faleel, its chief risk officer who stepped up as interim CEO following the departure of Arsalaan (Oz) Ahmed, Al Rajhi said in a statement yesterday.
Chairman John Roger Winfield said Mohd Syahrul’s accomplished career in banking, marked by strategic leadership, transformational drive, and operational excellence, would position him perfectly to guide the bank’s continued growth and success.
“The board of Al Rajhi bank and I look forward to a strong collaboration with Mohd Syahrul as we build on the momentum we have established,” he said.
The bank said Mohd Syahrul brings over 20 years of experience in the banking and finance sector with a proven track record of success.
He previously served as managing director (MD) and regional head of cash management and group transaction banking, as well as head of cards acquisition and personal financing, consumer banking at CIMB Bank, and MD and regional head of consumer banking at CIMB Islamic, said Al Rajhi. — Bernama
