The Language Institute (TLI) is a fast growing institute that provides an extensive and knowledgeable experience in teaching and learning of the English Language.
The UCSI Professional Academy (UPA) was established in 2010, consisting of two mainstream education fields which cater to students and clients in need of programmes for academic, professional and lifestyle purposes. It is strategically located amidst the busy area of Taman Taynton View, Cheras, some 10 km off south of Kuala Lumpur.
UPA is now set on its mission to expand its horizon with the introduction of new programmes aside from the existing English and Foreign Languages programmes by January 2013. The new programmes that will be offered by January 2013 are the: -Intensive English Programme -English Enhancement Programme -CAT -ACCA -Diploma in Accounting. -Diploma in Business (Insurance) -LCCI -Diploma in Business (Finance) By offering these new courses; UPA is set to achieve greater heights next year with its team of qualified international English teachers from the UK, Australia, New Zealand, America, Canada and South Africa.
UPA is a university-based academy that focuses on teaching quality, with conducive and well-equipped language classrooms and enjoyable communicative activities. The learning environment is very much similar to that of a university thus enabling students to familiarise themselves with higher learning situations.
Therefore, the communicative and student-centered approach in the classroom creates an enjoyable learning environment for the students in particular.
In other words, its aim is to raise the students English competency level and ensure they gain the maximum enjoyment and benefit from their language courses.
UPA is described as a “big but very closeknit family” with a diverse international student population. There are approximately 1,500 students from 36 different countries all over the world. Students mainly come from Russia, Asia, the Middle East and Africa. To make its presence global, UPA collaborateswith international governments through their embassies. Countries such as the Maldives, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Kazakhstan and Mauritius have strong working relationships with UPA to offer their students the best education.
Furthermore, UPA designs and offers many English programmes to suit the needs of the students and clients alike. These courses include the: -English Enrichment Programme -Holiday Programme -IELTS Exam Preparatory Programmes -Diploma in TESOL -English Mobility Programmes -Edu-Vacation-Youth Programme -The HRDF Approved Programmes - Certificate in Communication English for the Workplace - Certificate in Business English - English for Hospitality and Tourism and tailor-made Corporate Training programmes. In line with its corporate vision of becoming a global player in higher education, UPA has established partnerships with a number of foreign institutions of higher learning and partnerships with a range of international and local companies.
The elite group of clientele includes companies such as the Prime Minister’s Department, Petronas, IDP Education Australia, Khazanah Nasional, Malaysian Airlines System(MAS), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Radicare Group, KFM Solutions, Deloitte Malaysia and SIDC (Malaysian Securities Commission).
Currently, UPA is at the forefront of the English language teacher training programme. UPA is proud to collaborate with the London Teacher Training College (LTTC), U.K.
In line with its reputation for English language teaching, TLI conducts the IELTS preparation programmes in terms of offering academic preparatory courses for those who wish to enrol in universities and other institutions of higher learning.
Recently, upon completing the toughest race of their lives, 110 young local and foreign students received their IELTS examination results at TLI.
TLI continues to grow from year to year.
