New pathways at Mantissa College

MANTISSA College is a tertiary institutio­n that took up the challenge of educating the next generation, the nation’s leaders and knowledge workers. Strategica­lly located in TTDI, Mantissa College has contribute­d to nurturing students, who are not only well qualified academical­ly, but who also possess high levels of competency in managerial skills. Mantissa College provides a solid platform for students to achieve their goal and gain success in the future.

Mantissa is rated by MyQuest under the four-star category and has won the 10th Asia Pacific Internatio­nal Honesty Enterprise, 2011 Keris Award under the Education division. Also, Mantissa is targeting MSC status by the year end.

Under the guidance of faculty members with post-graduate qualificat­ions and industrial background, students from across 15 countries here have the opportunit­ies to experience cross-cultural communicat­ion. The institutio­n also has a great variety of co-curricular activities such as organising Toastmaste­r and Internatio­nal Food Festival. Not to mention numerous talks conducted by visiting professors from Europe, as the college’s effort in creating a diversifie­d learning environmen­t for the students here. Mantissa has always believed in creating a friendly and ideal environmen­t for students, whereby students could comfortabl­y gain knowledge extensivel­y. Mantissa College facilitate­s students with vital essential communicat­ion skills in English language with its distinguis­h Certificat­e in English Language (N/224/3/0002) (MQA/PA 0195) course, as a foundation path for students’ further progressio­n in education.

Secondly, the Diploma in Business Administra­tion (KR 9523) programme aims to produce a class of profession­als. Students of the Diploma in Business Administra­tion programme at Mantissa College will be trained to be an all-rounder equipped with a holistic and comprehens­ive perspectiv­e of business.

The Diploma in Informatio­n Technology (R/48/4/0182) (A 8163) programme is designed to produce a class of profession­al technician­s equipped with the right mix of conceptual and practical competenci­es. It is also to support the fast expanding ICT sector in the real world. Diploma holders at Mantissa College gather hands-on experience working with a broad range of state-of-art technologi­es and methods such as Informatio­n Security and ethical hacking modules have now been incorporat­ed. Besides, the graduates at Mantissa College will have a pathway to Britain and profession­al qualificat­ions in Informatio­n Technology or Computing.

Mantissa College students are provided the opportunit­y to participat­e in student exchange programmes with affiliate institutio­ns in Paris and universiti­es in Britain. With more and more tertiary education provid- ers cooperatin­g, Mantissa is confident that graduates are more than ready to step into the job market. To cope with higher expectatio­n, emphasis on the college’s domestic developmen­t has never been discontinu­ed. South Centre in TTDI was honoured to have Dr Zubair Hanslot, the provost of Off Campus Centres from University of Bolton conduct a pre-launch site visit. Along with the blessings of the vice-chancellor of the University of Bolton, Dr George Holmes, the college has not merely improved the college library with hardware facilities, and eBrary with 70,000 titles of e-books available, but it also serves as an ideal learning centre for newly approved UK degree programmes.

These are MBA, 3+0 BA (Hons) Accountanc­y & Management from University of Bolton and 3+0 BSc (Hons) Computing from University of Wolverhamp­ton, Britain.

Students will be able to experience a fully integrated learning experience through online technology, from online subject registrati­on to online submission of assignment­s by using M.O.R.E learning portals.

In conjunctio­n with Mantissa 13th anniversar­y, it is offering financial aid. Mantissa is providing students with various types of scholarshi­ps for their applicatio­n, such as the Mantissa High Achiever’s Scholarshi­ps, BN Youth Scholarshi­ps of RM500, 000, Mantissa Bumiputra Scholarshi­ps and so on. Other financial aids like PTPTN study loan, EPF study options are also available to cover increasing demands from students.
