Pursuing education through out-of-city centres

-

ARE you interested in furthering studies in International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) but might be constrained by work and other commitments?

IIUM through their Centre for Continuing Education (ICCE) now has out-of-city centres nationwide aside from the main campus in Gombak. Their centres are located in Penang, JB, Kota Baru, Kuching, Bintulu, Kota Kinabalu and Keningau.

“The reason why we have so many centres outside of the main campus is to cater for the working adults who are still interested in improving themselves for a better future. They are not able to leave their work, so instead of asking them to leave their job, we bring the education and expertise to them.” said Nor Yasmin Jamaludin, ICCE general manager.

“This is in line with our tagline - Nurturing Community via University. It’s important for the students to be able to focus on their studies while not having to compromise on their job and other commitments to gain this extra mileage in this competitive era,” continued Yasmin.

The programme currently offered at the centres is Executive Bachelor in Business Management (EBBM). Soon, the centres will launch different programmes for executives, such as Bachelor in Education and Master in Education.

These programmes are recognised by JPA and accredited by MQA. ICCE will start offering the Professional Certificate in Child Care and Education Management in Keningau, and soon will be offered in other centres. The classes are held on Saturday and Sunday, as well as on alternate weekends such as the first and third week of the month.

EBBM is now open for January intake. For details, call 03-6196 444/5456/5445/5457, or log on to their website at www.iium.edu. my/icce.

Closing date for applications is Dec 14.
