BRICKFIELDS Asia College (BAC) has over the past 21 years established itself as a renowned provider of world-class education in the areas of law and management.

As a first step towards an undergraduate degree, BAC offers the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) A-Level that is recognised by universities and higher education institutions in over 150 countries, including those in the UK, US, Canada, New Zealand and Australia making it the most widely accepted pre-university qualification in the world.

The CIE A-Level is a perfect preuniversity programme for students who are yet to decide on a specific tertiary education path because it keeps doors open to a broad range of programmes.

Students who are interested in furthering their studies in Law, Business, Media, Finance, Economics or Communication amongst others can select from the range of A-Level subjects that BAC offers which include Business Studies, Law, Economics, Accounting, English Literature and Mathematics.

Students looking to get a head start in their careers will find the BAC A-Level Express Route programme the perfect option for them. This specially designed 11-month programme gives BAC students an edge over those on the standard 18 or 24-month route. Coupled with BAC’s UK Transfer Degree Programme in Law or Business, students will be able to graduate up to two years ahead of their peers, making BAC the fastest and smartest way to over 50 UK Law and Business degrees.

The A-Level programme at BAC offers more than just flexibility with the express and standard routes. It serves as a solid foundation to tertiary studies. This is evident when considering the achievements of BAC’s A-Level students as well those who began their pre-university education at the college.

BAC’s top performers include Cambridge Brilliance Award winners such as Soh Kit Inn who was the Top Student in the World for Law and Rachel Tey Mei Yee who was the Top Student in Malaysia for Business Studies in the October 2010 A-Level examinations. Many of the students who began with the BAC A-Level Express Route have gone on to achieve stellar performances in their undergraduate studies. Among these students are Geraldine Kenel who went on to read law and graduate from Aberystwyth University with a first Class LLB (Hons) in 2012 at the age of 20 and Tan Meng Yee who graduated from Cardiff University with first Class LLB (Hons) in 2011 at the age of 19. BAC A-Level students have also secured various prestigious scholarships.

Kimberley Ong who scored 3A*s in Law, Business Studies and Economics in the A-Level was subsequently named the “Best Student in Malaysia” for the June 2011 University of London Intermediate Examinations and was awarded the King’s College Scholarship to complete her final two years of study in the UK.

In 2010, Kanimoli Balakrishnan received the Securities Commission Scholarship to read law at Warwick University and in 2011, Debra Nita secured the ASTRO Scholarship Award to read law at King’s College, both having completed their A-Level at BAC.

This makes BAC an obvious choice for students seeking a quality A-Level centre.

The success of BAC’s students is attributed to its teaching faculty, which consists of highly-qualified lecturers with significant ALevel teaching experience. This is complemented by the college’s state-of-the-art facilities that include a comprehensive library and research centre, computer labs, moot court, gymnasium, dance studio, and the Sky Garden Sports Café which help to contribute towards a holistic education experience.

BAC also operates two luxurious but reasonably priced student accommodation centres, namely Mutiara Residency and BAC Residences which are readily available for outstation students.

To make tertiary education more accessible to students, BAC has set up the Brickfields Education Fund. This fund awards Merit Scholarships and Financial Aid Scholarships to students based on academic excellence and financial need.

Other forms of financial assistance include zero interest instalment payment schemes, PTPTN loans, and EPF withdrawals.

Registration for the Cambridge A-Level January 2013 intake is now in progress. Students who register by Dec 31 of will receive an Asus Nexus 7 tablet equipped with BAC’s virtual campus, study materials and the Study & Life Skills Package which includes Speed Reading, Memory Mania, Study Skills and Action Plan sessions, all worth more than RM5,000 for free!
