cARDIFF Sixth Form College (CSFC), which has been ranked the Top A-Level provider, Top Independent Sixth Form College and the Top UK CoEducational Boarding School in the United Kingdom by The Best School League Table and The Education Advisers for three consecutive years, is presenting top Malaysian students with an exciting proposal.

They are offering up to 100% scholarships on tuition fees to high-flying students wishing to study A-Level in either the September or January 2014 intakes.

CSFC, which is a registered charity, started the Top Achievers A-Level Scholarship Scheme in 2010 and has already welcomed several exceptional Malaysian students into the scheme.

As these students have greatly benefitted from this scheme, CSFC wishes to open it up to students around the country.

It plans to build upon the already excellent foundation laid by local schools, and help enrich the lives of Malaysia’s best and brightest.

CSFC is ranked one of the top A-Level providers in the United Kingdom.

Their 2012 results were outstanding, with 99.5% A* to B grades achieved. Included in these figures, 94.7% A* to A grades were gained, with 60% of student achieving an A* grade.

With a reputation for outstanding educational achievements, excellent facilities and enriching extra-curricular activities, CSFC focuses on individual care, and inspires students to make the most of their unique talents.

Studying at CSFC will give students an excellent opportunity to learn in a richly diverse environment alongside some of the world’s top achieving students.

The college prides itself on having created an environment which educates and academically nourishes the world’s best students, while allowing them to expand their horizons, both intellectually and personally.

In 2012, two Malaysian former students of Cardiff Sixth Form College were honoured by the UK exam board WJEC for attaining the highest A-Level results in Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology.

Magdalene Ting from Lodge National School, Kuching, who has now gone on to study medicine at The University of Cambridge, received the highest ALevel results in Biology and Chemistry, with 599/600 UMS points and 597/600 UMS points, respectively.

“There has been, since day one, an unwavering commitment from the college to ensure our university applications are of the highest standard.

“They do this by helping us arrange our own work experience placements or suggesting locations for us to try for voluntary work,” said Ting.

“A major feature of this college that continues to appeal to me is the small student body, which, complemented with the high level of dedication from all teachers and staff, makes for a highly focused approach, which allows for a consistent achievement of academic excellence,” she added.

Mico Chai from Sri KL, Kuala Lumpur, who is currently studying Mathematics at London School of Economics, but who has also received an offer from The University of Cambridge to study Mathematics in September 2013, achieved the highest Mathematics scores in the country, with 600/600 UMS points.

“With a ‘work hard, play hard’ ethos, CSFC has helped me to develop both academically and socially.

“I believe my time here at CSFC has been an incredible experience, and it is both an honour and a pleasure to be able to study at such a respectable institution. These cherished moments are experiences which will stay with me long after I have left CSFC, my second home,” Chai said.

Nine students from Cardiff Sixth Form College started the 2013 New Year in the best possible way with offers to study at Cambridge or Oxford universities.

CSFC has dedicated staff members with direct experience of university admissions who guide students through each stage of the UCAS process. A wide variety of work experience, and voluntary placements ensure that all students make an informed career choice.

In order to be eligible for this scheme, candidates must obtain a minimum of six A*s in the IGCSE examinations or six A+ in the SPM, and will be subject to an interview and entrance tests.

They must also demonstrate a strong work ethic, and commitment to their studies.
