Super way to nuture leaders
iT takes a whole village to raise a child. SuperCamp knows it takes exactly that, hence with its academic and life skill tools, this USbased programme aims to help children aged 10 to 17 years fulfil their aspirations to become leaders in school and in life.
With over 65,000 graduates from more than 80 countries, SuperCamp is reputed to show dramatic improvement to children’s grades, confidence and motivation. Established more than 30 years ago by Bobbi DePorter, SuperCamp is hosted in its home country, the United States, and in 16 other countries in Europe, Asia and Latin America.
Since 2008, SuperCamp programmes have been run in Malaysia by Quantum Education Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Taylor’s Education Group. Through its exclusive partnership with Quantum Learning Network (QLN) in the United States, Quantum Education conducts SuperCamp and Quantum Learning programmes for students, parents, teachers and educators.
The SuperCamp programmes for students comprise two-day local/international workshops, customised workshops for schools and the year end seven-day camp.
In all SuperCamp programmes, campers acquire invaluable academic and life skills. They participate in inspiring activities that motivate them to achieve beyond their capabilities – intellectually, emotionally and physically.
For academics, campers are introduced to Quantum Study Strategies, Quantum Reading, Quantum Writing, Memory Skills, Mind-Mapping and Note-Taking Skills, which help them improve in their studies, making learning more fun and easier. These academic skills are complemented with skills in creative thinking, goal setting and problem solving, alongside communication tips.
Apart from academics, SuperCamp also promotes character building through its popular life skill techniques.
The 8 Keys of Excellence, which represents the core values of the programme, provides a basic framework for personal effectiveness and for living life successfully. At SuperCamp, a positive environment is established to allow optimum learning experience to take place.
Students may gain expertise in a specific field at school, but SuperCamp provides real world skills that will allow them to be their best. From improved communication skills to a higher level of confidence and motivation, SuperCampers know where they want to go and how to get there.
Another objective is to guide students to focus on the process of assuming responsibility and accountability in one’s life. They come away with a clearer idea of who they want to be and if they are making the best life choices.
A two-day SuperCamp April 2013 Workshop (non-residential) will be held on April 6 and 7 for the Junior Forum (ages 10 to 12) and April 20 and 21 for the Senior Forum (ages 13 to 17) from 9am to 4.30pm at Sri Garden International School, Cheras.
The seven-day SuperCamp December 2013 (residential) will be held from Dec 15 to 21 (ages 10 to 17) at Nexus International School, Putrajaya.
