A smart learning foundation

-

QUALITY early childhood education has life-long implications as it provides a solid foundation for learning in children. Not only does it help them cultivate social skills, it also supports their intellectual and language development, as well as nurture emotional maturity.

Though this often comes at a cost, the investment is well worth it.

Thus, Hurrifardzillah and her husband did not think twice when they enrolled their five-year-old son, Ahmad Rayyan Ahmad Rozzani in Smart Reader Kids Bandar Manjalara.

“Rayyan used to be shy. He was not fluent in his speech and could hardly recognise the alphabet. However, ever since we sent him to preschool, his confidence has improved and he knows how to write the numbers and letters of the alphabet by himself. In terms of character development, he has also become friendlier,” she said.

She added that Rayyan has taught her to identify a few Mandarin characters. He has also mentioned that he wants to become a doctor.

Meanwhile, Vanitha Krishnan and her husband enrolled two of their younger children, five-year-old Subikzha and four-year-old Lohendra, in Smart Reader Kids Metro Prima, Kepong.

“My eldest son went to Smart Reader Kids when he was three years old. After six months, there was significant improvement in his ability to speak English. Now, he is studying in a Chinese-medium school. He finds it easy to understand the subjects because he learnt the subjects in preschool. The solid foundation he received in his early years helped him with his transition.

“By sending my other two children here, I hope that they too will be able to adjust well when they enter a Chinese-medium school,” said Vanitha.

She noted that her daughter Subikzha has developed a talent for dancing and loves to write whenever she comes home from preschool. As for Lohendra, he has become more expressive and is now able to recognise the alphabet.

Nann Shan Loun and her husband were elated when their son, four-year-old Ryan Chong Kai Heng, was able to recite the alphabet on his own. Ryan presently attends Smart Reader Kids Taman Sri Sinar. His older sister also attended the same preschool.

The pleased mother said, “I noticed that Ryan has become more independent. Nowadays, he no longer wears diapers and often does his homework without being told to do so. There was also a time when I was cooking and Ryan came up to me and started singing the ‘A-E-I-OU’ song.” Ryan also relates what he learns in school to his mother.

With tens of thousands of students nationwide benefiting from the Smart Reader Creative Methodology annually, Smart Reader Worldwide has decided to launch its Fan Club on March 21 to keep track of the Smart Reader Kids fraternity.

The club also serves to inculcate good values among its members, through fundraising and CSR-activities.

All current and former students of Smart Reader Kids, particularly those who attended the daily programme and are between the ages of four and 17 years are eligible for the membership. The membership fee for the first year is waived.
