Learn to conserve at SEGI University
ENVIRONMENTAL technology, also referred to as green or clean technology, is the application of environmental science towards conserving the natural environment and resources, as well as to curb the negative impacts of human involvement.
At the core of environmental technology is the application of sustainable development and ensuring that solutions to environmental issues are socially equitable, economically viable and environmentally sound.
The SEGi University three-year Bachelor of Environment Technology (Hons) programme aims to produce graduates who are literate and competent in all environmental aspects.
This programme exposes students to the latest environmental technologies on wastewater treatment, air pollution control and solid waste treatment.
Environmental sciences and management are also incorporated into this programme.
Students graduating from the SEGi University Environmental Technology (Hons) programme will also receive a separate degree parchment issued by the University of Abertay Dundee (UAD), in addition to the SEGi University degree parchment.
According to Britain’s Complete University Guide, UAD’s strengths include Environmental Science.
Being among the country’s top three institutions for research funding, UAD received top ranking by Britain’s Quality Assurance Agency when 79% of its graduates praised the university’s teaching methodologies and learning approaches.
UAD houses the Scottish Universities’ leading Environmental Research Group comprising ACE (Abertay Centre for the Environment) together with the water and environmental management consultancy (UWTC – Urban Water Technology Centre) and SIMBIOS (a mathematical biology centre).
These three groups offer solutions to environmental problems for companies large and small although ACE has a particular brief to assist small and medium enterprises.
All the university’s researchers are also involved in teaching and developing courses, giving students the chance to learn from world leaders.
SEGi University is fully equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.
The SEGi University Group offers its own programmes in engineering and built environment studies. The BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering is a dual award programme.
Graduates of the degree will receive a separate parchment from the University of Greenwich.
