Fashion studies

-

N order to be on top of the fashion industry you need to be at one of the best places to learn it. At the International Fashion Training Centre (IFTC), studying fashion design goes beyond the basics and you are provided with a field of opportunities.

Balanced practical and theoretical study nurtures students’ abilities and allows them to produce their work entirely on their own.

In fact, it has been proven that up to 80% of IFTC graduates become successful fashion entrepreneurs.

“IFTC emphasises direct promotion to bring a designer’s name into the fashion industry,’’ said principal Annie Wong.

The two-year Diploma in Fashion Design covers subjects such as fashion illustration, cutting, sewing, draping, pattern making, couture designs, colour coordination, fashion terminology, fabric familiarisation, essential PR and marketing skills and even basics of the French language.

This year, there is a new subject taught which is online business and production.

Students who complete the diploma are able to extend their studies to Paris for one academic year and have one semester vetted personally by Wong for fashion-readiness after which they will obtain a degree in fashion design, awarded by the Paris American Academy. As a pioneer in fashion education, IFTC still maintains its role as one of the leaders in fashion education.
