Blending quick and easy meals

-

AMAN stands behind an island counter. He puts a cup of rice into a yellow blender and turns the machine on. Vees Electrical Sdn Bhd head of branch Simon Choong looks up from the lighted LED wheel that serves as the blender’s high-tech control panel and prepares to make a yam cake.

The whirr of the Vees Deliprocessor highspeed motor fills the room. The 3hp (1,680 watt) motor allows up to 30,000 rotations per minute.

The square cup of the blender has a two-litre capacity. An explosion of sound is accompanied by the movement of the white rice that blow upwards as it is ground to flour.

Switching between the Deliprocessor cups, he replaces the square cup filled with white rice flour with a two-litre rounded cup.

The difference between the square cup and the rounded counterpart is the six serrated blades at the bottom. A whole fruit can be blended into juice without being peeled and deseeded.

Choong puts a few pieces of yam in the processor. Then, he detaches the cap from the lid to reveal a measuring cup. Using the cup, he measures five cups of water for the yam cake.

He toggles the dial at the front and leaves the blender to do its job. The square bottom knocks the pieces together, creating enough heat to cook the flour within. Choong produces a paste and then proceeds to put it in the DeliOven to cook.

While waiting, Choong makes a smoothie. In two minutes, a rich sorbet-like smoothie sits in a cup. The DeliOven rings and the yam cake are ready.
