British degree of opportunities

-

JOHANNA Ramli’s father wanted her to obtain a British degree.

“My dad’s dream was to send me to the London School of Economics and Political Science, one of the colleges of the University of London.

“However, the tuition fees would be much lower if I studied locally, so the University of London International Programmes were perfect for me. It allowed me to gain a BSc Accounting and Finance degree from a highly recognised, well-respected university while studying off campus,” she said.

Johanna discovered that the best part about the University of London International Programmes is that it allows students to obtain a University of London degree at a fraction of the cost compared with if they were to study in Britain.

Johanna added: “I have no regrets about the route I have taken because I now have a job in Britain.

“Had I not obtained a University of London degree and landed a good job, I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to get a transfer to Britain.”

Studying with the University of London International Programmes is ideal for someone who wants to remain in Malaysia but obtain a degree from Britain. Students will receive subject guides directly from the University of London.

“Auditing was my favourite subject. My lecturer at HELP University was interesting, informative and shared audit stories with us from her experience working as an auditor,” Johanna said.

Johanna found the course tough but hugely rewarding.

The result of all the hard work paid off for her.

“I think having a University of London degree puts your curriculum vitae at the top of the pile, especially in the Malaysian environment,” she said.

Johanna got her first job at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Kuala Lumpur, after graduation and subsequently moved to PricewaterhouseCoopers in Britain.
