TRAVEX International College team congratulates Teo See Fui for being the “Top Student in Malaysia” in the International Air Transport Association (IATA) December 2012 examination. Teo received the “Best Performer Recognition” from IATA.
The IATA Diploma Foundation in Travel & Tourism from Canada is recognised worldwide and is among the only tourism diploma that is accepted by airlines, airports and travel agencies around the world.
Travex International College chief executive officer Keriun Ong established the Travex Institute of Tourism in 1998 to educate young professionals in the tourism, hotel and airline industries.
Bundled with years of education experience and with a team of highly qualified and experienced lecturers, Travex continues to produce quality graduates.
There are many opportunities for those who wish to embark in these industries as tourism has been highlighted in the Malaysia Economic Transformation Plan.
Malaysia has targeted to create 467,000 jobs in the tourism industry and the Tourism Ministry has set a target to achieve “36 million tourist arrivals” and “RM168bil in receipts”. With this projection, the tourism industry will need more qualified and well-trained professionals.
Competent graduates enjoy high income ranging between RM5,000 and RM10,000 per month.
According to Ong, the world aviation industry is facing a shortage of flight attendants. She urged those interested to sign up for the Airline Cabin Crew course which will commence on May 2. Students can also attend a talk on “How to prepare for Airline Cabin Crew interview” on April 23. Seats are available on a first-come-first-served basis.
