Start your career on a high note
Berklee College of Music in Boston, the United States, is a world-renowned music college delivering the highest standards in music education. The Berklee alumni have received 229 Grammy Awards, with names such as John Mayer, Bruce Hornsby, Quincy Jones, Steve Vai and Grammy 2011 Best New Artist award-winner esperanza Spalding hailing from the institution.
Berklee attracts students of high musical proficiency from all over the globe. Admission to Berklee is highly competitive. Only 800 students out of the 2,000 applicants will be selected for each intake.
This is the scenario for students who enrol directly at Berklee.
However, International College of Music (ICOM) students have an advantage over other students in Malaysia and the United States.
Berklee and ICOM have had a long relationship with each other.
As of today, ICOM has successfully transferred hundreds of students to Berklee through its Berklee Transfer Programme.
Having seen the high academic standards and enrolment of students, Berklee offers ICOM students a full articulation of the first two years of education at Berklee.
This means that students who successfully complete the ICOM Berklee Transfer Programme will automatically gain credit transfers for the first two years at Berklee.
ICOM graduates will only spend another two years in the United States to complete their Bachelor of Music awarded by Berklee College of Music.
Berklee representatives will be visiting ICOM on April 24 and 25 to conduct scholarship auditions.
ICOM also offers the Bachelor of Music (Hons) Professional Music, which is a validated undergraduate programme by University of Wolverhampton, Britain, and the Diploma in Business – Music Industry and Certificate in Audio Production.
ICOM’s July 2013 intake is now open. Closing date for applications for Malaysian students is June 21 and for international students is May 10.
