Greater comfort now with new Firefly planes
MALAYSIAN air travellers can look forward to flying in a more improved and comfortable new regional airliner ATR 72-600s, with Firefly, on their next trip.
“Beginning June, the company will gradually take delivery of 20 brand new series of the ATR 72-600s which boast cutting edge turboprop technologies.
“Operating from Subang, the perfect touch point for travellers, Firefly has a valuable opportunity to expand its operations further and facilitate travel that focuses on ease and convenience,” said FireFly Sdn Bhd in a statement, yesterday.
Currently, Firefly operates with a fleet of 12 ATR 72-500 turboprop aircraft out of Penang and Subang, to destinations within peninsular Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore.
Marking its sixth year in the industry this April 2013, with its new cabin crew look, Firefly, a wholly-owned-subsidiary of Malaysia Airlines (MAS), has taken pride in servicing secondary routes on a point-to-point basis providing incredible value at compatible fares.
“With such a wide range of services offered by the industry it was crucial for Firefly to identify, select and package a range of services as key to differentiate itself to passengers.
“The choice of service offered by Firefly sits mid-way in the spectrum where it offers full service airline features such as free baggage allowance and complimentary in-flight refreshments while maintaining cost effectiveness like a low-cost, no frills airlines,” it said.
According to the statement, these offerings have proven very appealing to a wide cross-section of the air traveller market which includes the executive business traveller as well as the discerning cost-conscious leisure traveller.
“The airline’s mission is to strengthen its network footprint by offering exceptional service and sustaining profitability above industry average which it has succeeded in so far.
“While the airline continues to dominate the secondary routes, it also take pride in aligning its business model and work culture to social conscience,” it said.
