MAKE-UP helps cheerleaders look good and feel confident during performances, and that’s one of the reasons why Silkygirl is pledging its support as the main sponsor for Cheer 2013.

“Cheer is an event that we like a lot. We love the cheering kids who are full of energy and the event goes very well with what we want to do, which is to help the cheerleaders be more confident in themselves,” said Alliance Cosmetic Group Sdn Bhd CEO Ng Chee Eng.

With its “Unleashing Your Confidence” tagline, Ng believes that Silkygirl would definitely help boost the cheerleaders’ confidence during the tough competition. “When you put on makeup, you feel good, look good and you perform better.”

Apart from Silkygirl, Cheer 2013 will also be supported by presenter MARIGOLD HL Low Fat Milk and co-sponsor Sugus.

Ng, who has attended several Cheer national finals, is looking forward to seeing the cheerleaders in action once again this year. This is the seventh year that Silkygirl is part of the Cheer family.

“You can feel the difference of the energy level right before you enter the stadium and after you step into the stadium. It is totally different.

“Watching them do their routines, you will see that it involves a lot of co-ordination and effort. And the confidence in what they do is what we want to show the young people.” He even joked that he would gladly jump in and join the cheerleaders during their fun and energetic routines.

Ng also noted that he has wit- nessed a lot of improvement in the quality of performance and image showcased by the Cheer participants year after year.

“Back in those days, the cheerleaders just came out with basic make-up on.” In the recent years however, the cheerleaders (including some of the boys) have improved and put more emphasis on their appearance.

It is not only the cheerleaders who have improved over the years, but Silkygirl as well.

“We had a lot of products launched last year and we are coming up with more cute stuff for the younger ones,” said Ng.

Silkygirl also plans to organise a contest on its Facebook pageto help promote Cheer 2013.

And as per tradition, Silkygirl will also set up a special booth at Cheer 2013 for the public to play fun games and win special merchandise.

The Cheer 2013 finals will be taking place at the Putra Indoor Stadium in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur on June 29 and 30 (Saturday and Sunday). Admission to the event is free to all members of the public.

Cheer 2013 is organised by R.AGE and presented by MARIGOLD HL Low Fat Milk. The main sponsor is Silkygirl and the co-sponsor is Sugus. Red FM is the official radio station.
