Next generation of computers

YES, Malaysia’s fastest and widest 4G network provider, has launched the world’s first YES Samsung 4G Chromebook, a revolutionary mobile device that will transform the way users work, live, learn and play.

The Chromebook is the result of the strategic partnership between Yes and the world’s number one search engine Google, and the world’s leading technology manufacturer Samsung.

Distributed exclusively in Malaysia by Yes, the product is ultraportable at only 0.7 inches thin and weighs next to nothing at 1.08kg. The Chromebook is packed with amazing features despite its size.

Powered by the new one-of-a-kind operating system Chrome OS, the Chromebook is designed to take cloud computing to the next level where everyday computing tasks such as emailing and word processing, data storage and even computer games can be performed on the web.

The integrated Yes 4G chipset in the Chromebook ensures constant access to cloud 24/7 via the award-winning Yes 4G network with speeds of up to 20Mbps.

It comes with 16GB solid state drive but the big idea is to store data in the cloud with the 100GB Google Drive which is free for two years.

The built-in Yes 4G connectivity keeps you connected at blazing speeds with fastest and widest high-speed 4G network everywhere and anywhere, in making sure that your work is truly mobile.

The Chromebook will sync seamlessly with any device that runs on the Chrome browser — your bookmarks, files and settings can all be transferred so you can pick up right where you left off.

Stay in touch via video call with up to nine people on Google+ Hangouts. And when your friends come over, multiple logins allow different users their own experience. Editing photos and videos will be a breeze too. Apps like Pixir Editor, Stupeflix and YouTube Video Editor are all a click away.

Create documents, spreadsheets and presentations with apps such as Google Drive, Zoho or SlideRocket. All your files are automatically saved online so you are able to retrieve them anywhere in the world.

Saving your data on the cloud means that they are safe, even if your Chromebook is damaged. And with the Chrome Remote Desktop, you can access and run software stored on any of your computers securely over the Internet.

Participants and visitors of the Ipoh International Starwalk 2013 can look forward to experiencing how the 4G Chromebook works at the Yes booths during the event.

Not only do they get to purchase the device but they can also check out the Yes 4G network as well as other Yes products such as the Huddle XS and Internet plans.

There will also be a medley of fun games and activities at the booth with attractive Yes merchandises to be won.

A brand under YTL Communications, Yes is supporting the Ipoh International Starwalk for the second time as a Platinum sponsor.

Contributions include Yes T-shirts and woven bags for the participants, and prizes such as a three-day and two-night stay at the luxurious five-star Hotel Majestic Kuala Lumpur, two Yes Samsung 4G Chromebooks and 13 units of Yes Go Starter Packs.

A global frontrunner in mobile 4G, Yes is the first mobile operator in the world to bring mobile internet and voice together in one offering besides offering the lowest mobile rate in the industry.

This is to bring affordable high-speed Internet to every city and town in Peninsular Malaysia where it currently covers over 85% of the population and with on-going network expansions in East Malaysia.

With its robust 4G network as a backbone and a fully-converged mobile service, Yes is one of the most advanced wireless networks in the world.

Earlier this year, Yes clinched the prestigious 2013 Frost & Sullivan Malaysia award for being the Most Promising Telecom Service Provider of the Year.

This recognition adds to the list of accolades Yes has earned since its launch, including being a winner of Broadband InfoVision Awards 2011 under the Best New Service category and Frost & Sullivan’s 2012 Best Practise Awards under the Most Innovative Service Provider of the Year 2012 category.
