IF YOU can’t decide between a tablet or notebook, then the Portege Z10t Ultrabook is the device for you.

It features a detachable keyboard that allows users to easily turn it from a laptop to a tablet with a simple flick of a switch.

A digitiser pen is also thrown in for easier inputting, though you need to carry that around separately from the device.

However, a smaller stylus with basic functionality can be slotted inside the tablet.

It ships with a 11.6in HD touchscreen, an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor, 4GB RAM and either a 128GB or 256GB solid-state drive. The tablet component also offers built-in USB 3.0 port, SD card reader, microHDMI jack as well as WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, while the keyboard dock features a LED-backlit, spillresistant design and touchpad for Windows 8’s gestures support.

It also comes with integrated Ethernet, HDMI, VGA and USB2.0 port.

Toshiba also announced that the company had started shipping its new Satellite S40t notebook here.

The S40t comes with a 14.1in flat Clear SuperView HD widescreen LED backlight screen with 10-point multitouch capability.

It is built around an Intel Core i3-3227U or i5-3337U proces- sor, 4GB DDR3 RAM, shared Intel HD 4000 graphics or a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce GT 740 M with Optimus technology and 2 GB VRAM and up to 750GB of hard disk.

The sound system is powered by Onkyo stereo speakers enhanced with DTS audio technology.

The price of the Z10t is under wraps until it arrives in July, but the S40t is available now for RM1,999 (i3 processor) and RM2,499 (i5 processor).
