It’s raining Shoes

It’s a shoe fiesta out there, as footwear of all designs assail the woman who’s looking for the right pair to dress her feet.

-

WHAT’S your shoe story? Even if you’re not really all that interested in what you put on your feet, I dare say you probably own more than one pair of shoes!

Are you the practical sort who would want to be able to walk for miles in a pair of sensible heels, or better yet, understated flats? Or perhaps you prefer to indulge in pretty, strappy sandals that will easily carry you from day to night? And pain not

withstanding, there are those who will easily sacrifice, well, maybe just a bit, for the sake of a gorgeous pair of stiletto heels if they will make legs seem as though they are slimmer and longer.

Of course, it’s not too far a stretch to say a swanky pair of boots are meant for walking. All these and more, await at Parkson, Steve Madden, Nine West, Charles & Keith and Ipanema. –PatsyKam

Pen a date with Parkson

Marc by Marc Jacobs’ collection is a scene stealer with its simple yet luxe edginess that gives a surprise twist to whatever you’re wearing. At work, power up that suit with To Be or Rebeca Sanver. These two brands also have something special for party queens and quirky dolls too, so it’ll be a breeze finding that bright or detailed pair for that outing you’ve been planning for. Gals who prefer understated yet chic footwear should find comfort in Andrea Morelli and Byblos, or keep it fuss-free by going casual with Roccobarocco.

Fine art with Nine West

Nine West has five unique series this Spring: Modern Performance, Flamingo Kids, Alchemy, Pure Obsession and Mosaique. The first Performance takes inspiration from the modern minimalist with clean lines and shades of coral and contemporary black-and-white. Classic sharp toe pumps are reworked while decorative status hardware, bold ethnic prints and sophisticated ankle straps shouts style.

Contrasting colour-blocked shoes and strong vibrant palettes make up the Flamingo, with electrifying shades of citrus, green and yellow coupled with eye-catching tropical prints and retro chic.

Emphasis is placed on heels design with intriguing details on architectural shapes in clear plastic vinyl and sculpted clear Lucite heels.

Alchemy revisits the softness and femininity of classic women’s fashion with soft pastels and light metalics, featuring Lucite clear details, mirror heels and uppers, architectural heels as well as edgy studs.

Pure Obsession promises bright neon colours to highlight the urban diva, replete with simple outlines in high-tech and organic materi- als.als. Mosaique continues the eclectic ethnic trend with tropical prints and primitive motifs, looking further at the safari with wild cheetah prints. Differing chunky heels and bohemian sandals both contrast to complement the unpredictable woman.

Carousing with Charles & Keith

This summer, the Charles & Keith collection features a myriad of vivid day glow hues and intricate emboss, cuts and crafty elements. Textures are in weave, cork and wood with a mix of urban cultures and exotic influences. Peep toe pumps are updated with cork heels and crisp, clean metallic reflective surface. Weaving details on strappy wedges come in dark hues of brown, green and navy, with yellow highlights. Summer voyage love is interpreted in wood with a collection of staple platform T-bar heels in nautical white and navy.

Platform peep toes with intricate ankle straps, and pop-coloured heels cater to colour-junkies while slingback sandals are available in a simpler, timeless colour palette of white and cream. The Signature Label offers summertime chic with vibrant hues. Luxurious leathers and refined fabrics are presented in heeled sandals, platform wedges and peep toe pumps, while lace and sequins adorn footwear in sophis

ticated fashion.
