Armed with the E3-Boosters edge

-

Graduate employability has been an issue of considerable national concern over the past several years.

Fresh graduates exiting local institutions of higher learning seem to be generally lacking certain characteristics that employers in the industry are looking for.

these missing traits include a strong command of english, a well-suited attitude and the ability to solve problems, among others.

as a result, they are passed on from being hired, while the industry is not able to meet its human resource demands.

Being aware of the situation, Kdu university College has swiftly responded with an initiative called the e3-Boosters, whereby a set of skills specifically targeted to remedy the common shortcomings faced by fresh graduates seeking employment will be imparted to its students.

the e3-Boosters, comprising english Proficiency, eQ development and entrepreneurship, are widely incorporated into the curricula of its academic programmes and all its students are exposed to them.

english Proficiency has been included because of the language’s vital importance and widespread use in today’s global environment.

By helping Kdu university College’s students gain mastery over it, their chances of securing their dream jobs are significantly increased.

eQ development, on the other hand, will help students prepare for the realities of the working environment when they graduate.

they will be moulded into individuals with mature mindsets and strong characters, ready to contribute to any employer that hires them, right from day one.

Lastly, entrepreneurship skills will drive them to be more daring, innovative and adaptable in order to stand out from their peers.

the working world is becoming tougher by the day, and graduates need to be equipped with advanced problems solving skills to overcome the many challenges that will be thrown their way.

according to Kdu university College’s vice-chanceller Prof dr Khong Yoon Loong, “Our e3-Boosters were developed based on the National Graduate employability Blueprint 20122017, published by the Ministry of education, to make our students almost irresistible to their future employers.

“With the implementation of the e3-Boosters initiative, the students of Kdu university College complete their tertiary education with a distinct edge over other graduates in terms of employability.

“even now, 63% of Kdu university College’s students manage to secure employment upon convocation, and 95% are hired within six months of graduating.”

In line with its mission to drive dreams, Kdu university College is giving out rM6mil worth of scholarships to prospective and existing students who are high achievers.
