It’s a kid-sized world

-

AWARD-winning KidZania is now in Malaysia offering children an experience to remember. Introduced by the Family Edutainment Centre (FEC), KidZania is more than a kid’s museum or a family entertainment centre.

It is a true kid-sized city where children can role-play real-life experiences, including earning money (kidZos), managing a bank card and paying for goods and services. Suitable for kids aged four to 14, they are empowered to take charge and make their own decisions in KidZania.

KidZania’s core value lies in being able to educate while providing a fun, real-life experience where children can meet new friends and explore new activites. The centre enables children to do what comes naturally to them – role-playing, which allows them to explore their interests and discover hidden talents.

The activities inspire children to explore careers in a lifelike city built specially for them.

KidZania believes in promoting change, inspiring global citizenship and building strong community awareness among kids through a hands-on, educational and fun experience.

Play and learn

Unlike other theme parks, KidZania does not feature any rides or arcade games. Instead, children participate in a variety of role-playing activities specifically designed to aid physical and intellectual growth. As part of a successful global franchise, KidZania Kuala Lumpur houses more than 60 different establishments and provides more than 100 different role-playing activities for children.

KidZania is essentially a city scaled to a child’s size. It has its own national anthem, language and functioning economy. It comes with beautifully paved streets, vehicles and recognisable buildings in the form of “establishments” sponsored and branded by leading international and local brands.

At KidZania, children can become judges, television crews, magicians or take on any of the role-playing activities available. They learn independence, teamwork, financial literacy and explore different professions as they learn how a city works.

Among some of the interesting activities that kids can do during their visit to KidZania are piloting an aeroplane, putting out fires, being a paramedic or surgeon, hosting and supporting the production of a television programme, interior designing or enjoying the fun and exclusive experience of attending classes at university. By completing the prescribed tasks, kids earn “kidZos”, which can be saved in a bank or spent purchasing other goods and services.

A family centre for all

Children of different age groups are able to take part in the establishments’ various activities under the guidance of a “Zupervisor”. Zupervisors are trained adults who guide and help kids accomplish their tasks as they work and play.

Toddlers are not left out as there is an exclusive section called Urbano’s House for them. Here, children aged three and below can take part in storytelling and puppet shows, make their favourite meals, jump around on an inflatable bed, have fun in a soft ball bathtub and much more.

For the convenience of parents, there is also a dedicated baby care centre for private nursing and diaper changing. Besides that, parents can rest and relax in comfort at the parents’ lounge which is equipped with Wi-Fi and televisions while their children enjoy themselves in KidZania.

“We are proud to bring the world’s fastest growing educational and entertainment brand to the children of Malaysia to enjoy and benefit from. The unique concept of education and entertainment that KidZania has to offer will aid developmental growth and inspire confidence, creativity and innovation among children,” says Tunku Datuk Ahmad Burhanuddin, managing director and chief executive officer of Themed Attractions and Resorts, Governor of KidZania, Malaysia.

“The involvement of various industry partners from renowned local and international brands will further add a sense of realism in this city for kids, thus enriching their educational experience.”

KidZania is located at Curve NX opposite the Curve shopping mall in Mutiara Damansara.

Families can extend their fun day out in the surrounding retail establishments or spend time bonding through the activities at the centre.
