Reward for high achievers

IT was a day of pride and celebratio­n for outstandin­g students who were awarded scholarshi­ps from leading preunivers­ity education provider Taylor’s College.

“I am feeling very grateful right now. I was more than happy when I achieved 9A+ in my SPM trial examinatio­n and successful­ly secured this full scholarshi­p. I have always wanted to go to Australia and was advised that the best course for this is the South Australian Matriculat­ion Programme and the best college for this course is Taylor’s College,” explains 18-year-old Shilpa Selvaraj, who intends to pursue a course in engineerin­g or psychology.

Taylor’s College scholarshi­p and bursary offerings, which were revamped at the end of last year, saw the introducti­on of two new schemes under the Taylor’s Pre-U Scholarshi­p and the Taylor’s Pre-U Bursary.

This move aims to allow more students to enjoy the benefits of the scheme to support their academic aspiration­s.

“Scholarshi­ps are important stepping stones for young talents to pursue their life aspiration­s. Through these new and improved scholarshi­p schemes at Taylor’s College, more students can benefit from the developmen­t of learning skills, life skills as well as leadership skills that we provide at Taylor’s College. This will empower them when they go on to university and into the working world,” says Lim Tou Boon, president of Taylor’s College.
