Artfully designed for Malaysians
WITH over half a century of educational ties between Malaysia and Britain, there is no doubt more students are seeking better quality education beyond Malaysian shores.
Students seeking a British education in art can now pursue it locally at The One Academy, Bandar Sunway campus.
Together with a prominent British partner – the University of Hertfordshire – The One Academy has been offering three 3+0 Degree programmes, namely the Bachelor of Art (Honours) in Graphic Design, Bachelor of Art (Honours) in Interactive Media Design and Bachelor of Art (Honours) in Interior Architecture and Design.
University of Hertfordshire is ranked the top 4% of universities worldwide based on the Times Higher Education rankings.
It was chosen as an education partner for its distinctive business-savvy education in various disciplines.
Coupled with The One Academy’s edge in practical skills and creative prowess, this results in a collaboration that not only cultivates students who are able to create quality work, but also skillful at implementing creative ideas.
According to The One Academy principal and managing director Tatsun Hoi, “In line with our Masters Train Masters philosophy, the key is to offer an international quality education based on industry-driven syllabuses and practical-coaching approach.
“Our UK Design Degree Programmes are the extension of our longstanding emphasis of superior quality education and training with real industry relevance.”
University of Hertfordshire’s head of School of Art and Design Judy Glasman concurred, “By bringing together the experiences of two longstanding and very successful art and design institutions, this partnership between the University of Hertfordshire, UK, and The One Academy, Malaysia will certainly enhance the training and education available for young people at the degree level.
“The University of Hertfordshire has a strong reputation for good quality education on an international scale and the combined experience and expertise of the University of Hertfordshire and The One Academy will generate a better, deeper educational experience as well as an avenue for students to get international perspectives on design, media and communications.”
The 3+0 UK Degree programmes are also created to meet the needs of parents – they help save up to two-thirds of what would normally cost if one opts to study in Britain.
Nevertheless, with the flexibility to com- plete their final year in either Malaysia or in Britain, these programmes offer great opportunities for those who long for quality education.
Since the prominent collaboration was launched, many The One Academy-University of Hertfordshire degree students have graduated with flying colours.
Under the guidance of lecturers, they have successfully organised their graduate works showcase – The One Academy Degree Show – in which various works on par with industry standard were showcased.
Some graduates also have participated and contributed tremendously towards The One Academy’s corporate identity rejuvenation campaign.
Many of these talented graduates are now employed in various multinational agencies, underscoring their edge in today’s competitive world.
