Celebrate this Mid-autumn Festival with the Mines Shopping Mall as these special moments of traditions are enhanced with an array of authentic mooncake delights.

the mooncakes are meticulous­ly baked by reputable brands such as the baker’s Cottage, Oversea, tai thong, Hui Fang, Di Huang, Mochi Sweets and bee Cheng Heong.

the fine collection of mooncakes are available for sale from now until Sept 7 at the Mooncake bazaar, located at level 3, Centre Court.

For shoppers’ pleasure, a limited collection of the “Jade rabbit” plush toy can be redeemed when you spend rM138 or rM98 for rHb cardmember­s in a maximum of three combined receipts of a similar date at the bazaar.

according to the Mines Centre manager alan Cheong, “Midautumn Festival is an important occasion for Chinese families to spend time together, strengthen­ing and fostering their family values.

“and with all the decoration­s and programmes lined up, one would feel the closer bond of family reunions, especially during this Mid-autumn season.”

there will be a competitiv­e “Mooncake Gone Wild” Challenge, which consists of 12 groups of participan­ts designing different shapes of mooncakes to showcase their creativity.

besides that, they will be designing a beautiful mooncake box to place their designed mooncakes.

those who celebrate will remember the legend of Chang er.

For shoppers’ delight, the mall has specially dedicated a photograph­y session with Chang er during weekends.

Shoppers who snap a photo with Chang er and post it on the Mines Facebook fan page or e-mail the photo to marcom.mines@ capitaland.com will stand a chance to win a mystery gift.

Chang er will be celebratin­g the festival with shoppers from aug 24 to Sept 6 in two sessions at 2pm and 5pm respective­ly.

august is also a month for Malaysians to celebrate Merdeka. For that, the Mines is also featuring an adorable “Malaysia Flag Kids Costume Contest” for children aged 12 and below, showcasing their talents in a beautifull­y designed Merdeka costume.

the contest will be held on aug 30 at level 3, West Court.
