Time-honoured creations
IT is said that Frédérique Constant pays particular attention to design and character when it comes to watchmaking. Accordingly, the brand likes its watches to be classic and traditional, yet timeless in their high quality, differentiation and precision.
This year sees the Swiss watchmaker introducing a new look to two of its exceptionally popular Slimline Moonphase Manufacture models. As it is, the FC-705S4S6B and FC-705N4S6B are now sportier than ever.
Frédérique Constant has effectively taken these watches out of the ballroom and boardroom and instead, moved them into a more casual and fun setting such as a yacht and tennis club, or ski resort.
What makes these models stand out is the addition of an ultramodern and super-sporty stainless steel bracelet, which replaces the previous alligator straps.
The new bracelet gives the Slimline Moonphase a stylish, outdoors look.
The FC-705S4S6B is presented with a gleaming, three-part stainless steel case measuring 42mm in diameter.
The automatic movement – featuring hours, minutes, date and moonphase – is adjustable through a single crown.
A stunning domed silver dial is adorned with hand-applied nickel indexes and hands, and is protected by a convex sapphire crystal. The appreciated see-through case back has also been retained.
The FC-705N4S6B offers the same features and functionality, but the dial is a midnight navy blue. Both models are driven by the FC-705 Manufacture calibre, with 26 jewels and an exceptional 42-hour power reserve.
Other highlights include the watches from the Classics Manufacture Worldtimer range. These feature an absolutely captivating lustrous silver dial with a simple yet rich “guilloche” decoration at the centre.
The gleaming, hand-polished, black oxidised hour and minute hands and hand-applied Roman numerals provide a striking contrast to the silver dial, and a detailed silver world map gives the watch that real “wow” factor.
Frédérique Constant has also introduced the new FC-945 Silicium Heart Beat Calibre.
This Heart Beat manufacture features a silicium escapement that uses less power and maintains amplitude more efficiently as it is able to function without lubrication.
The watches with the new Silicium escapement are part of the Manufacture Collection. Each highlights a patented balance wheel bridge on the front side of the calibre and (as seen through the Hear Beat aperture) the visible Silicium escapement wheel.
The FC-945 Silicium Heart Beat Calibre is observable in the Ladies Automatic Double Heart Beat watch. Said to be designed by women for women, it is classic, feminine, sophisticated and ultimately sexy in every detail.
