Long Thien Shih: ‘Man Of The Times’ Retrospective

His presence in the art scene – at home and abroad – dates back to the 1960s when he travelled to Europe, seeking to refine and expand his artistic vision.
A five-decade career has made him one of the nation’s most celebrated names in art. The Klang Valley-based artist’s long-awaited retrospective exhibition is not to be missed. It trawls through Long’s entire career with his early pencil shades, Nanyang and beyond watercolour style, abstract acrylic splashes, dynamic etchings and digital designs. It highlights thought-provoking work on the environment and social commentary, right to his 1970s abstract stirrings and gender politics.
Free admission. Open daily, 10am to 6pm. 2.30pm to 5.30pm), participants will learn to make two types of baguette – the French style, which has a crusty finish, and the American style, which is less crusty.
On Sept 1 (from 10am to 1pm), the chef will demonstrate how to make (rice with herbs) and some of the usual accompaniments, like (spiced fried chicken), and fresh sambal
