Nexus has a team of highly qualified international educators delivering well-balanced curricula based on the best standards and incorporating the best educational practices worldwide. Inclusive education In a more connected world where students have more choice and greater access to information, schools and indeed education itself, have to become more flexible and adaptive to meet the increasingly diverse needs of modern learners.
The school prides itself on its personalised and high-quality teaching and learning. Children are not selected on academic ability but are assessed in the English language and interviewed to ensure they can cope with the demands of the curriculum and benefit from learning with the school.
With current student numbers of approximately 710, the overall teacher to student ratio is around 1:8. In addition to classroom and subject teachers, there are learning and language specialists who provide support for learners both in and beyond the classroom. Curriculum NISP follows rigorous internationally recognised curriculum to help learners achieve their maximum potential.
For Primary, NISP has chosen the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). In the Secondary School, learners sit for the International GCSE examinations in Year 11 and then go on to study for the twoyear International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Technology in learning To prepare learners for today’s interconnected world, ICT is fully integrated into the curriculum.
From early years, children use iPads and the primary school has laptops in trolleys for class use. Learners from Year 5 upwards have their own Macbook Pros.
There is extensive infrastructure and several ICT technical and teaching staff supporting the integration of ICT in the curriculum. Holistic education NISP is an internationally minded learning community that nurtures and supports every child’s emotional, physical, creative and intellectual needs.
Alongside academic success, much emphasis is placed on developing personal skills and development of character is considered to be core to an individual’s success both at school and beyond.
NISP strives to create in the school an inviting place, in which human respect and values are balanced against academic rigour, learners are encouraged to realise their potential and to respect their own unique worth as well as that of others.
The purpose statement of Nexus International School is to educate the youths of the world to take their productive place as leaders in the global community. Its promise is to treat everyone as gifted and talented individuals and to foster those talents and gifts through careful mentorship and guidance.
NISP has an extensive co-curricular programme after school four days a week that includes a wide range of sports, arts and service activities.
