A multicultural experience

-

SWINBURNE University of Technology Sarawak Campus offers foundation courses that allow SPM graduates to make a smooth transition from secondary school to tertiary studies.

The university offers oneyear foundation courses in business, design, engineering, science and information technology or multimedia studies.

These undergraduate courses may be completed either in Swinburne Sarawak or in one of Swinburne University’s campuses in Melbourne.

“The university plays an integral role in producing graduates who are geared towards the development of the state and key research projects that enable innovation in industries,” says Prof Anthony Cahalan, deputy vicechancellor and chief executive officer of Swinburne Sarawak.

Quality assurance ensures that high quality is maintained throughout Swinburne campuses. The courses are identical to those of its home campus in Melbourne so local graduates are awarded the same internationally recognised Australian parchment.

The cultural diversity at Swinburne Sarawak is an opportunity for students to interact with and learn more about their peers and staff from abroad.

Going on an exchange programme where they can spend a term or two at Swinburne’s Melbourne campus while continuing to pay the same Malaysian tuition fee can enrich their university experience.

Newly enrolled students whose public exam results meet the criteria may be eligible for scholarships.

The university also helps students to apply for loans from Mara, PTPTN, Yayasan Sarawak and Sarawak Higher Education Foundation. Scholarships are also offered by private and charitable bodies via the university.
