Flexibility for the future
FOR students who are still trying to figure out their academic pathway after SPM, Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur (IUKL) offers foundation studies that can grant them fast and flexible access to a university degree programme.
IUKL’s two foundation programmes, Foundation in Science and Foundation in Arts, are designed for flexibility to broaden students’ choices of study at degree level. With their carefully designed curriculum, the foundation programmes will help students decide which degree programme to pursue later.
The Foundation in Science offers two options – engineering option for students who wish to pursue an engineering degree and non-engineering option for those who aspire to be part of the health science industry.
The basic modules of the two options cover English, mathematics, chemistry and physics. Students who choose the engineering option will also take up statics, physics and dynamics laboratory. Focus will be given to biology and biochemistry for those in the non-engineering option.
Individuals who choose the engineering field will have the choice of advancing into civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical and electronics engineering and automative engineering. The nonengineering field offers degree options in the fields of pharmacy, food science, biotechnology, agriculture and more.
For Foundation in Arts, two options are also offered. The first is the architecture option for individuals who aspire to be professional architects. This option requires students to focus on architecture-related subjects such as AutoCAD application, introduction to architecture, architectural graphics and sketching.
The second art option is designed for students who plan to become involved in the areas of business studies, information technology and language studies. Some of the basic modules compulsory for Foundation in Arts students are English, communication, psychology and computer applications.
Also available are business, IT, accounting, marketing, network technology, software engineering, advertising, English for professional communication and architectural studies.
IUKL scholarships are available to students who meet the minimum requirements.

STPM students only need a minimum CGPA of 3.00 to enjoy the 50% scholarships and 3.50 for a full scholarship.
