Mutual learning and respect

-

ST John’s International School (SJIS) strives to inspire every student with the fortitude to become respected leaders of the community by accomplishing academic, personal and social goals founded on the holism of faith, knowledge, thinking, creativity and excellence.

SJIS focuses on providing students with varied exposure that will help them develop a holistic character and set them on the path to a bright future.

SJIS is part of the scholastic tradition that began with St John’s Institution Kuala Lumpur in 1904. The SJIS building is part of a treasured heritage with its famous red-and-white brick “Grecian-Spanish” architecture that was built in the 1930s.

The school sits within the lush green surroundings of the Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve against the backdrop of the KL Tower and the Petronas Twin Towers.

SJIS is a melting pot for students of different cultures and backgrounds. It was established in collaboration with the La Salle Brothers in Malaysia. SJIS links with a La Salle organisation that has an outstanding history of delivering excellent education not only in Malaysia but in 82 other countries worldwide.

SJIS provides an ideal environment for students to be nurtured in excellence in terms of education, sports and extra-curricular activities. The school started with five students in its first batch in 2011, and the enrolment has since grown to its maximum capacity of over 400 students.

Good discipline and a strong student-teacher relationship are emphasised to create an atmosphere of mutual learning and respect.

Members of the SJIS faculty are chosen for their top academic qualifications and pedagogic competency.

Recently, SJIS teachers were given training on Interesting Practices at Lasallian Schools by Lasallian Brothers, which possesses important key virtues of being a La Salle school such as faith, zeal and community/service.
