ENTREPRENEURIAL thinking and doing are not limited to starting a new business enterprise. Thinking and behaving like entrepreneurs can help a graduate’s career development. This is why the No.1 shift in the new Higher Education Blueprint is to produce entrepreneurial graduates,” says Binary University executive chairman Datuk Prof Joseph Adaikalam, who also sits in the National Higher Education Council of the Ministry of Education.

“Being proactive, competitively aggressive, innovative and able to exhibit leadership independence are some qualities employers seek in fresh graduates. These can be found at good universities with the right ecosystem to transform ordinary students. This is why Binary has invested millions of dollars to develop the Binary Entrepreneurial Ecosystem (BEE),” he explains.

As Malaysia’s first entrepreneurship university, Binary University has produced entrepreneurial graduates and entrepreneurs through its School of Entrepreneurial Development (SEED), which opened in 2005.

“To be a highincome graduate, one needs to be a valuable asset to employers. This is why in addition to the BEE, Binary University’s ISP (Industry Specialist Professional) Graduate model has proven an excellent solution for employers.

“Testament to this is the graduate employability rate of Binary’s graduates ranking being among the highest in the country (source: Tracer Study Education Ministry),” says Binary University vicechancellor Prof Dr Sulochana Nair.

“Popular courses at Binary University include the BA (Hons) Accounting, BA (Hons) Business Management, BA (Hons) Marketing, BSc (Hons) Computer Science and BA (Hons) Entrepreneurship,” says Undergraduate School dean Prof Dr Zulkifli.

“Our BA (Hons) in Accounting is among the very few triple accredited accounting qualifications in Malaysia. Our accounting degree is CPA (Australia) accredited and MQA accredited, and provides exemption from eight papers of the ACCA (UK),” says senior lecturer S.F. Huang, who is also a chartered accountant with over 20 years of industry experience.

He adds, “With the triple accreditation, our accounting graduates can work in many countries. Because of this, our school has attracted students both locally and internationally. Our students can therefore experience a wide range of cultures on campus.”

Binary is a global leader for business programmes and Malaysia’s first specialist business school.

“What we are offering is an opportunity for youths to differentiate themselves in the competitive job market. Everyone has the potential to be successful in their own right but we need an ecosystem that can help bring out the very best in us,” Joseph concludes.

Rated as a fivestar university by the Ministry of Education (source: Setara), Binary University also offers postgraduate research degrees.

To differentiate yourself as a ISP Certified entrepreneurial graduate, join the next intake commencing March 25 / April 28.
