One-stop centre for a law degree

ADVANCE Tertiary College (ATC) has positioned itself as a premier institution to study for a law degree. It is a “one-stop centre” in the sense that school-leavers can complete their entire journey towards becoming a lawyer at ATC, from the pre-tertiary level to postgraduate professional qualifications.

In 28 years, ATC has become the largest independent law school in the Asian region with two campuses in Malaysia (KL and Penang), one in Singapore and a joint venture partnership in Hong Kong with the publicly funded Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Its Business School has also grown to offer a variety of certificate and diploma programmes that are contemporary and market-driven.

Build a solid foundation with A-Level qualification

The first step towards a law degree is obtaining a pre-tertiary qualification. Entry into the University of London LLB can be done in several ways including having an STPM qualification, IB and numerous other pre-university qualifications.

However, the most popular qualifications by far is the UK A-Level qualification. ATC offers the Cambridge International Examinations A-Levels for students who want to progress to the LLB programme or any other university in any discipline. The Cambridge A-Level qualification is widely recognised worldwide.

If you are considering undertaking the A-Level programme but are undecided on where to pursue it, ATC invites you to take advantage of its free trial class programme, where students can attend lessons for up to two weeks to decide whether the programme is what they want to do and the subjects they would like to register for. This way, the students can get different perspectives on a particular subject before making their decision.

The programme is conducted at ATC on an AS/Advance level format for a year-and-a-half as prescribed by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia. ATC has assembled an excellent team of full-time and part-time lecturers to guide students through the subjects offered.

Give yourself the best with the University of London LLB at ATC

ATC has been recognised by the Ministry of Education Malaysia with a four-star ranking, which places it above other specialist private law schools in the country.

ATC principal and deputy chief executive officer Dr Danny Choong says: “I have no doubt in my mind the reason for ATC’s outstanding achievements in recent years. It is powered by the amazing faculty of lecturers that form the pillars on which ATC stands.”

ATC boasts the largest full-time faculty of any private law school in the country, supplemented by experienced part-time teachers.

ATC’s famous Intensive Revision Programme has also been quoted as a reason for the success achieved by its students. It is a 10-week programme where students are drilled with exam techniques and discussions of past-year exam papers to give them ideas on how to tackle the examinations.

The notes given during this revision programme, coupled with the extensive notes given throughout the academic year, have never failed to produce the best in the students.

ATC students’ world-class results in the University of London LLB programmes every year are testament to this fact. ATC students were awarded 34 second Class Upper degrees, the most for a single institution for The University of London International Programmes worldwide this year.

All Malaysian school-leavers are encouraged to take advantage of ATC’s 28th year anniversary scholarship offer.

Students interested in joining the A-Levels or LLB programmes can contact ATC at the toll free line 1800 889 292 or visit the KL campus at Bangunan Tunas Utama, Jalan Petaling, KL.
