BERJAYA University College of Hospitality (Berjaya UCH) recently ventured into Yangon, Myanmar, to conduct a series of event management workshops entitled “Dazzle the World with the Flawless Fashion Show Execution”.

The workshops were conducted by Head of School of Berjaya UCH School of Tourism Kit Thong and a specialist in event management.

These specialised workshops were designed as an interactive platform to provide participants with basic knowledge on how to properly organise fashion shows, from planning to stage execution.

Participants of various backgrounds and ages attended the workshops, which gave them an opportunity to design a mock-up fashion show stage.

All of the participants did exceedingly well, as evidenced by their imaginative creations.

By the end of the workshops, the participants commented that they found the workshop informative and useful as the knowledge and skills gained can be immediately applied in the workplace.

The workshops were also broadcasted on Myanmar YV Channel MRTV4.

According to Thong: “The conference and event industry in Myanmar is gradually building up. Hence, there will be an increase in demand for specialists in event management.

“The workshop also aims to create awareness for career opportunities in the MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) industry and the advantages of obtaining qualification in this field,” she added.

Berjaya UCH is arguably Malaysia’s premier University College in the fields of hospitality, culinary arts, tourism and event management.
