LUX International College is a fast-growing college established in April 2007, then known as UCSI English Academy. In 2012, the academy was awarded college status by the Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia and became UCSI Professional Academy.
In April 2014, UCSI Professional Academy spread its wings to its new campus in Damansara Uptown, Petaling Jaya. With the move, the college was rebadged as Lux International College.
With a striking tagline of “Learn to Shine”, Lux International College strives to produce students that stand out from the rest. “Lux” is the SI unit for measuring illuminance. Lux International College recognises that a student must possess certain positive attributes to stand out from the rest.
An array of short-term programmes with dual qualifications and multiple progression pathways is offered. Its Diploma programmes have been recognised and approved by BTEC (Business and Technology Education Council), enabling students to obtain a Higher National Diploma (HND) upon completion of Lux International College Diploma programmes and a National Diploma (ND) upon successful completion of Certificate level programmes.
Lux International College also has sound professional links with well-known bodies and organisations. It is an ACCA Approved Learning Provider with Gold status and has also obtained approved partner recognition by Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). Another professional organisation that has recognised its Diploma in Accounting programme is Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (CTIM); its qualification will allow members to carry the title of Associate member of Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (ACTIM), or Fellow member of Chartered Institute of Malaysia (FCTIM) and Chartered Tax Practitioner (CTP) and have opportunities to liaise with tax authorities. Diploma in Accounting students receive exemptions for three papers (Financial Accounting, Economics and Taxation) to obtain the CTIM qualification.
Lux International College believes that there is no set boundary in obtaining an education or learning a skill. Being an HRDFapproved training provider, it also provides an array of competency-based training programmes for working individuals and organisations for professional development.
