A choice institution for learning
As one of the pioneer institutions of higher learning in Malaysia, Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR University College) has been the institution of choice among secondary school students due to its reputation for practising high academic standards and quality for over four decades.
It is thriving and bustling with dynamism as it rolls out its Dual Award programmes in collaboration with four partner universities. Three of them, Coventry University, Sheffield Hallam University and University of Salford, are based in the United Kingdom, while Campbell University is based in the United States.
This innovative arrangement echoes the ethos of TAR University College in providing high-quality education that is widely accessible to all Malaysians.
The Dual Award collaboration was put together in view of the increasing need to possess globally recognised qualification that will allow for greater international mobility in charting one’s career.
Combining TAR University College’s strength in its industry-driven curriculum and the academic prowess of its renowned partner universities in both the United Kingdom and the United States, students will benefit from an international education that will prepare them to take their place in global society.
As an added benefit for students, the Dual Award arrangement provides an option for studying abroad at the partner universities. The one semester study abroad at the partner university will give TAR University College students the opportunity to experience learning in an interculturally diverse environment and be exposed to various international trends.
The pioneer group of students in the Dual Award programmes who opted for a semester’s study abroad left for the United Kingdom in January. One of them is Loo Dickson @ Loo Fandie, a Bachelor of Economics (Hons) student at TAR University College. For this TAR University College book prize winner, the decision to undertake the Dual Award programme with a study abroad option was easy to make as the additional degree will give him an extra edge in his future career.
Tee Yee Yean, a Bachelor of Business (Hons) in Human Resource Management student, is also eager to undertake the Dual Award as the exposure to different cultures will be important in preparing her for a career in human resources.
